Forget about drilling a hole through your spotty mount bolt and putting a padlock on it, thieves will just cut it off. Forget about a spot weld on the bolt also, as YOU will never be able to get them off!
If you are worried about the security of your driving lights on your vehicle then these security nuts are the answer to your problems. They offer cheap insurance against both opportunistic and organised thieves who are intent on stealing the often very expensive auxiliary lighting on your vehicle. The nuts are a domed shape with a unique security key machined into the nut. They are impossible to undo with pliers, spanners, vice grips, bolt cutters and most other tools.
In the kit you receive two lock nuts and one socket. The thread on the nut is a 1/2in BSW thread which is suitable for the larger lights, such as Nite Stalker 170, 200, 215 & 225 series. It may fit other brands as well, but to make sure, just double check the size of your bolt!
For the most effective operation it is advisable to use locktite when tightening the nuts. This will make sure that even if someone manages to get a good grip on the nut with some form of tool they will have a hard time trying to twist it out of the locktite seal.
