This compressor has been blowing away the opposition for 2 years and originated 6 years ago as the "big thumper". It has evolved with progressive improvements and as of July'07 this latest update now incorporates even heavier internal armature and brushes. The biggest customer base is the sports cars with active air suspension and the Grande BOSS works all of the time, stopping and starting maybe 200 times a day. The 4WD guys would not do that in 6 months, so there is no doubt that this unit is well beyond the call of duty in off road applications.
It is the biggest and most impressive 12 or 24 volt "MAN SIZE" compressor on the market. Nothing comes close by comparison in electric compressors. With 135 psi switch and 15 litre tank, it pumps a 265/75R16 tyre (approx 32 inches) from 20 to 30 psi in just 25 seconds, beating an endless air by 15 seconds. By the time you get to the next tyre the tank is near full again and you blow away the opposition again. Without a tank it is about 20 seconds slower than endless air.
